Powerful, passionate emotional stuff.
Music Video Of The Day
music video of the day: "Blue Monday" by New Order
Because it may be the saddest day of the year but at least we have this song.
music video of the day: "Gravity" by Trentemøller ft. Jana Hunter
Sigh. It's pretty beautiful.
music video of the day: "Strictly Game" by Harlem Shakes
Because they other day I got this text...
What's the name of the band that has that song Harlem Shake that you played once on your radio show in first year and the video is them staying really still and it looks like still pictures?
This is that video.
music video of the day: "Somewhere" by Yuck
music video of the day: "I Only Fucked You As A Joke" by Childbirth
YOU'RE NOT THAT COOL AND YOU LOOK LIKE A TROLL
These ladies rule. This is the best. I dig. Check them out.
music video of the day: "A1" by Darkside
Give yourself to the Darkside.
They play Lee's Palace tonight.
music video of the day: "Plastic Soul" by YACHT
It’s 2014, and you’ve awoken to find yourself alone for the first time in months. Your serotonin levels are at an all-time low. For as long as you can remember, you’ve been relentlessly battered by millions of corporate dollars targeted directly at your valuable eyeballs. And it’s still boring. Snapchat sucks. You’ve even worn out the most exciting long-player that came wrapped in non-disclosure agreements just to delight you. When you think you’re losing it, this is your theme song.
That's one heck of a press release. Chill song. Chill video. JASH rules.
music video of the day: "Money On My Mind" by Sam Smith
Because everyone should do it for the love.
Yeah it's the guy who sings on Disclosure's "Latch" and yeah his voice is amazing.
music video of the day: "Fa All Y'All" by Da Brat
Sunday morning jammin featuring a cameo by lil Raven-Symonè.
music video of the day: "Bouncing Off the Bay" by The Bicycles
Perfect for this foggy Saturday.
music video of the day: Pu$$y Chicken" by Hand Job Academy
Happy Friday! Go hard! These babes sure as heck do!
music video of the day: "Digital Witness" by St. Vincent
It may just look like a photo but I'm 88% sure Annie Clark's head is moving ever so slightly and she's just acting very still. Either way, I love it. Gives me an excuse to listen to this song on repeat. Her new album 'St. Vincent' is in stores Feb 24 (UK) / Feb 25 (US). Until then, I recommend you check out the previous single "Birth In Reverse" and Love This Giant - her fantastic collaborative album with David Bryne.
ps. Did you know that she used to be a member of The Polyphonic Spree and was also part of Sufjan Stevens' touring band? The more I learn about her the cooler she gets. Of course.
pps. She's totally playing NXNE 2014
music video of the day: "Mobb Dizzle" by Bishop Nehru
This 17 year old slick New York kid gets it. Real shit. Download his mixtapes via his Tumblr. Into it.
Expect a new project combining him & MF DOOM (who's already produced some of the kid's tracks) later this year. Apparently it'll be called NehruvianDOOM. So much legit young talent out there right now. Heck yes.
music video of the day: "Bona Fide" by Cassorla ft. Aubrey Plaza
Because Aubrey Plaza saxophone solo.
music video of the day: “Stranger To My Happiness" by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
Because Sharon Jones is a god damn star and a shining one at that.
Stream Give The People What They Want and then buy the album when it comes out January 14th.
music video of the day: "My Moon My Man" by Feist
Because any time I'm at the airport this video pops into my head.
All I wanna do is dance on those moving walkways. Always.
I went to Pearson today to see off my little sister who's heading back to Halifax.
The holidays are officially over.
Sigh.
ps. Are Lizzy Caplan and Feist friends?
They're both rad and kinda look alike.
I vote they make a video together.
music video of the day: "The Perfect Kiss" by New Order
And that's how you execute a performance video. A classic.
music video of the day: "Hood Pope" by A$AP Ferg
music video of the day: "North American Scum" by LCD Soundsystem
Because Sound Of Silver was the first album I listened to on vinyl in 2014.
